The Integrated Engine Control Unit (ECU) is equipped with both analog and digital technology, more than 2,400 components and a high density of components. The multitude of inputs and outputs with OBD (on-board diagnostics) presented a serious problem for both electrical and thermal design. High safety requirements required connecting the OBD to all I/O to ensure that the engine control unit determines whether a given output signal is functioning properly as intended, or whether there may have been a short circuit, an interruption, or it is not working for some other reason.
To increase the level of safety, XECU has been developed in accordance with significantly tightened EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) requirements in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. In addition, the product is tested at a RMS load of 20 g in 32 hours, HALT (accelerated service life) – up to 50 g of RMS load and IP65.
